Exploring human relationships through movement, myth and folklore, I make figurative ceramic sculpture, impractical toys and kinetic art. Primarily a hand builder using coils, slabs and pinching techniques, I love the process of transforming clay and how details come together to reveal character and story. With a more-is-more approach to surface design, I use pattern, colour and texture to adorn my forms. I am interested in the push and pull of emotions and their power over actions - creative and destructive. As a friend, wife and mother, I work intuitively with thoughts of how we cope, cooperate and work against and depend on each other. There is beauty in our flaws and foibles.
