Gary Spicer - Co-Founder

Drawn to beautiful things at a young age, Gary at the age of 16, apprenticed with the top designers of Graff. Four years later as a fully-fledged Master Goldsmith in hand fabrication, he opened his first custom shop in London, England, the town where he was born. This was the start of a life in high end jewellery design, service and entrepreneurship. At 24, Spicer moved to Canada with his family, where he serviced and subcontracted for Birks for all of Atlantic Canada.

The 1990’s oversaw the start of new jewellery businesses, including Spicer Smith, Diamond Realco, Just Silver and store at Sears Goldsmith. The 2000’s saw his brand include Britt’s restaurants and the Rockwood Park Golf Course.
Gary has undertaken a new partnership with Shannon Merrifield to house a new jewellery store, fusing fine art, craft and jewellery together in the historical City Hall building in uptown Saint John. The gallery is representative of Gary’s passion to renovate and bring back to life historical Saint John properties.

When Gary isn’t managing his businesses, he can be found on the river paddle boarding, kayaking and salmon fishing. Gary is a proud father of two sons who  also own jewellery stores.
