JOHN EDWARD CUSHNIE / SAINT JOHN, NB
John Edward Cushnie is a professional artist living in New Brunswick with a practice focused on human vulnerability as it relates to the environment, notions of individuality and community, and contemporary representations of masculinity. John has served as a visual arts instructor at Mount Allison University, the Ontario College of Art and Design, and Western University, and has been involved with the Canadian Artist-run Centre movement for many years.
John’s work is included in numerous public and private collections including the Beaverbrook Art Gallery and the Province of New Brunswick, and he has participated in many residencies and events with organisation such as the Banff Centre for the Arts and the Havana Biennial. He currently serves as VP of ArtsLink NB in support of the professional arts sector in New Brunswick, and is represented by Spicer Merrifield Gallery in Saint John.
